Scene 14Locked

At home, cozy

Home is where she's most herself and most photographed badly — under a yellow ceiling bulb, mid-task. The cozy at-home shot is easy once you move her to the window and catch a real moment instead of a posed one.

A woman by a window at home in a soft knit, morning light across her face, a mug in hand, relaxed and unposed.

The usual miss

The yellow ceiling bulb is the villain of every home photo. It throws warm, ugly, top-down light that shadows the eyes and turns skin sallow — and it's almost always the only light that's on. Pair that with a "look up from your phone real quick" snap and a cluttered counter behind, and the coziest place in her life produces the least cozy photos.
