Scene 9Locked

Mirror selfie

A mirror selfie is the one 'photo of her' she'll often take herself, so it's worth getting right. The whole thing turns on where the phone sits and how the body is angled — small moves, big difference.

A woman taking a full-length mirror selfie, phone held low and slightly to the side, body at a slight angle, clean background.

The annotated breakdown is inside.

The usual miss

Phone held dead-center at face height, body squared flat to the mirror, head down looking at the screen. It covers her face, foreshortens her legs, and gives the whole thing a slightly hunched, "checking my phone" energy. The mirror selfie has a reputation for looking awkward — but it's not the format, it's the defaults.
