The usual miss

One shot, a quick glance at the screen, "yeah that's fine," phone away. The trouble is that a real smile, open eyes, and a good gust of hair almost never line up on the first try. Photographers who seem to "always nail it" are quietly shooting ten or twenty frames of a moment and showing you the one. The amateur move isn't taking a bad photo — it's taking too few.
